Talent

Above are a few of Isabelle’s creations she made as
a child. You can already see similarities she has with
her present art by an interest in animals and
patterns. Isabelle also demonstrates good spatial
and proportion skills.
All of us are creative as children, almost all of us like
to draw, make paintings, and sculpt, and are pretty
much uninhibited. Unfortunately, many people back
off from that, something happens, maybe one kid is
slightly better at it or an adult crushes the spirit of
the child as artist. Fortunately for us, Isabelle has
pursued her interest and love for painting and
making pictures. She loves sharing her artistic ideas
and images, and seeing how people enjoy owning
and living with her art. Being an artist is a very
wonderful and happy gift, and the joy of it is very
contagious with the art of Isabelle Picard.
Isabelle prefers to use recycled materials as much
as possible for her smaller pieces, things like used
and worn paint brushes, discarded pieces of wood,
old doors or panels, and who knows what she’ll find?
She is very committed to work for animal rights and
fighting against animal abuse and neglect, and is a
strong voice for the environment.
Respect of nature, animals and the ocean is most
important to Isabelle!

Inspired daily by the beautiful nature that surrounds
her, by the magical colors of the Caribbean Sea, and
by the diversity she witnesses, well, painting comes
naturally and Isabelle is quite glad for that! With a
style that is colorful, whimsical, unique, and very
recognizable, she is obviously a happy person and
artist to connect in such a way to her island home!
Born in France, Isabelle is really an island girl at
heart, and very happy living on St. Croix and visiting
other islands. When not painting, the artist can be
found seaside. The Yin of her Yang (as an artist) are
water sports. and together with her husband,
Isabelle competes as a paddle boarder and kite
foiler, also teaching these skills and sharing that joy.
Isabelle Picard has been creating her beautiful and
interesting art work on St. Croix, in the US Virgin
Islands, for over twenty years. Well known for her
murals, as found in private homes and businesses
across the Caribbean islands and Florida, her art is
also sought for her colorful creations and unique
style. Isabelle has won many awards, and built a
great local and international following, her paintings
selling worldwide.
